we've had a fun weekend around here.
i have to admit i've been a bit wrapped up in the whole royal wedding thing.
i love this particular picture because of the way the wind is blowing kate's veil. you can see the lace edge on the veil and how it hits at just the right spot. i worked in the bridal industry for several years for debra moreland of paris tiaras. and in my opinion, kate did everything just right. i love it. i kept thinking while watching the wedding on tv that kate's make-up was flawless. then, i later found out, she did her make-up herself! can you even imagine? very impressive, kate!
i had a little royal wedding fun of my own. on friday night i went to a party at a friend's house to watch the ceremony. we were asked to wear hats. here is what i came up with 30 minutes before leaving. don't underestimate what you can do with a 7 year old's dance costume hat, pipe cleaners and a hot glue gun.
dress: land's end canvas (clearance)
sweater shrug thing: tj. maxx
necklace: vintage (my great-grandmother's)
gloves: vintage (great-aunt's)
earrings: vintage (a gift from my great-grandmother after i got my ears pierced.)
hat: made by me!
the party was a blast. and i loved every minute of watching the wedding.
