thanksgiving goods

i used my grandmother's china dishes for thanksgiving last week.

this is the first time i have used the china and i must say, it really made me happy. i am so glad i made the effort to pull it down off the high-up cabinet shelf, unpack it from it's "fancy china" zipper bags, and set the table with it.

i really didn't go to great lengths to decorate this table. it was easy and thrown together the-day-of. my mother-in-law was making a last minute run to the grocery store -on thanksgiving day- and i said, "hey, while you are there see if they have any thanksgivingy flowers." she came home with butter and mums and on the table they both went! (i love a fall mum, don't you?)

isn't my grandmother's china pattern pretty? i think it's perfectly thanksgivingy. ;)

computer goods: not so much...

"hi everyone!
sorry to leave you hanging...
...i sort of told you some of my best news ever and then disappeared.

i have a good reason.

my computer was sick.

like intensive care, sick.

my brainy husband was able to recover the important files.

he had to type in smart computer lingo like "e:/" and "f:/".

i just stood there.

anyway, his work computer would't let me on blogger. booo!!!

over thanksgiving my brilliant brother-in-law fixed my computer.

it's better than ever! we called him the "scientist" all week.

thanks jon!

again, sorry for vanishing.

be back real soon!

xoxo,
elisabeth

holiday goods: anyone else freaking out yet?

looking forward to the next few weeks i have come to grips with the fact that i am going to be busy and stressed.

is anyone else freaking out that thanksgiving is weeks away?

and then christmas soon after that?

this is how i feel inside.

instead of assuming the fetal postition and giving up completely, i am turning to my slow cooker.

i am hoping that:

general electric + pinterest = less freaking out.

in about ten minutes i am heading to the grocery store. i have printed off three of these recipes.

if making dinners for the next week or two is an easy simple task, then hopefully my holidays will look more like this:

are you freaking out too? how do plan on managing??? i would love to know!
